Haverford Township is dedicated to supporting its many parks and trails, but we can’t do it without you! Volunteers help clean up, maintain, and plant all throughout Haverford’s beautiful natural spaces. In doing so, volunteers help to support healthy and biodiverse habitats, which in turn offer food and habitat to wildlife, improve water quality, and reduce flooding and erosion.
If you are interested in making a difference in Haverford’s parks and on its trails, sign up for our
Volunteer Corp.
Upcoming volunteer days can be found at Haverford Township SignUpGenius.
Rain gardens help capture and process stormwater, reducing flooding and purifying water. Rain gardens also house valuable native plants that are well-adapted to local conditions. If you are interested in learning more about rain gardens and would like to help install one, email adesanti@havtwp.com to get involved.
Tree Tenders is a program hosted through the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). The program aims to engage community members and groups in urban reforestation. Planting trees and re-foliating local spaces is a powerful and effective way to enhance individual and community health and well-being. Check out PHS’s website to learn more about how to get involved with the program as well as the local plantings that happen here in Haverford!
