Draft - Haverford Township Comprehensive Plan Posted
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
In Pennsylvania, the Comprehensive Plan establishes a vision for future growth and development in a municipality for a ten-year horizon. The plan provides community planning policy recommendations regarding future growth and development, protection of natural and historic resources, transportation, and community facilities and services.
Where are we in Adopting the Comprehensive Plan?
The proposed comprehensive plan document has been reformatted for clarity and consistency and has been sent for review to the Delaware County Planning Department as required by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC). At the same time, the Township must forward copies of the proposed plan to all contiguous municipalities and to the Haverford Township School District for their review and comment. This public comment period shall remain open for at least 45 days.
At the conclusion of the 45-day period, the Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing prior to adoption. The Board must consider the comments of the county, contiguous municipalities, the school district and the public, as well as the recommendations of the Planning Commission.
