This summer (2025), the children at Haverford Township Skatium Summer Camp had an exciting and educational experience thanks to a special visit from our K9 teams. The dedicated police K9 units brought their talented dogs to the camp, giving campers a chance to meet these incredible working dogs up close.
The children enjoyed a friendly meet-and-greet with the K9s, learning about the important roles these specially trained dogs play in community safety. The K9 teams showcased some of their impressive skills, including searching for items hidden in the field, demonstrating how they help locate narcotics, and even performing jumping displays — notably by K9 Bodhi, who showed off his agility and athleticism.
This visit not only provided fun entertainment for the campers but also offered valuable insight into the training and work behind law enforcement K9 units. It was a memorable experience that highlighted the importance of teamwork, obedience, and dedication between officers and their four-legged partners.
The Haverford Township Skatium Summer Camp looks forward to more engaging activities like this that inspire and educate young community members about the vital work of our K9 teams.
